Elevation profile: net zero and virtually flat course
Crowd: The distribution of runners' performance lined towards the right end of the scale.... very few first timer or non-regular runner.
The easy part: Flat course, great air, great views of farm lands and the snowy volcanos across the river in Washington state
The challenging part: It gets hot pretty fast even in OR, we finished the marathon with temperatures in the 80's

My 2 cents: Some Marathons are about the crowds and the bands the play along the way, some are about nature and the views. the Flat Marathon is the latter. (Also, great fresh strawberry shortcakes made by the locals in the end)
